Comments Thread For: Note To Boxing: More Like Nonito Donaire, Please

Wouldn’t it be great if after every win, a fighter dropped specific names of whom he next wanted to face, rather than the token response of chasing the biggest payday, but otherwise settling for “whoever my promoter puts in front of me?”

The Pilipine fans can't handle more than one star and not having their support has to be the worse experience. Donaire's boxing skills are far better than Manny's and I can't understand why fans keep comparing him to Pacquiao.
The same happened to Cotto coming under Trinidad. People hated him because He wasn't Trinidad and I think that was very unfair. Like in that case, Manny and Nonito are very different in every way possible.
Manny is their fighter and Nonito should be their Boxer.

I dont see that comparison...Cotto and Trinidad both grew up in PR. Nonito grew up in the States, so there's a certain detachment between him and his fanbase in the Philippines...give it some time. He's still very popular, but he hasnt accomplished too much yet. If he beats Montiel, he'll just be as popular as Manny.

Pac's career seems to be sliding down now, especially with Mayweather never fighting him. Seems he's content fighting has beens for paydays.

Nonito on the other hand, will be lined up to face the best of the best from now on.

Well said. Nonito will be #1p4p. He is the full package. He is a pleasure to watch and listen too I hope he becomes the face of boxing. He is a pleasure to watch. Did anyone notice how mad he was at himself cuz he got hit with one right hand, one punch I loved that he's a perfectionist he's only gonna get better.

Donarie is the real deal ! He showed his skills back when he nailed Darchinyan and he continues to show it. I hated it that he had problems with Gary Shaw etc...... I thought "Whats wrong with ARUM" not getting him big fights. I thought that he should headline the PPV Saturday nite.

Maybe Arum has seen the light !!!!

Whats not to like about Donarie ??? He is a winner loves to fight. His style and Charisma puts people like Mayweather to shame.

Donarie KO's the GREAT MONTIEL !

                Anyone for a Donaire Sandwich?

Just like that delicious middle-eastern meat sandwich called the donair or gyro. This dude is just as good.

I hope this Donaire has a good heaping of Montiel and possibly a side order of Darchinyan sauce to go!
