Regardless of whoever wins, these fights are the ones you mention in the History section when you argue HOF and ATG status.
As of the moment, only Montiel deserves to be on the list. Donaire deserves to be there if he beats him, but not before then. Monitiel is much better than any of his opponents, and is not as open as Darchi. Unless Donaire can reach him without opening himself up the way he usually does, I doubt he will last the full fight. He needs to be as slick and mobile as Gorres was when he fought Montiel, or it's game over.

    Exciting fight, nonetheless

nonito opens himself up as a bait..he trust his speed and reflexes so much that he knew he could counter quickly...its not his habit...he uses the opening as a tool to conterpunch like what we saw with sidorenko....and what a beauty it is to see the overhead lefthook counter...

I agree though, when Nonito gets a guy hurt he tends to get excited and leave himself open. His jab will have to be his key. Montiel might not be as quick or flashy, but he hits very hard and is never out of a fight.

Donaire is not just "they guy who can box". He can box and hits hard. Slick boxer puncher with a killer instinct.

Nonito wins this. No doubt in my mind.

MONTIEL IS GOOD. Nonito is just on another level.

How has no one pointed out that Nonito Donaire Sr. trained Montiel for his bought against Ciso Morales?! That's an issue.

I can't decide between the two. Part of me thinks Donaire is stronger BUT i see this fight in my head as a Barrera vs Hamed affair.

I hope this fight is good enough to warrant a trilogy.
