I'm starting to get upset with Arum and his matchmaking for Pac lately, but I'm starting to see the forest from the trees. I don't know how many fights Pac is under Arum for, but for arguments sake, let's say its for 5 more fights. Once Manny got elected to Congress, Arum had to get as many fights in before Manny inevitably became more focused on Congress and walked away from boxing. That's why before even the final PPV numbers got back for Pac's last couple fights, Arum already had another opponent on deck. He fed Manny his Top Rank stable to maximize his dollars and keep Manny unblemished and to raise Manny's profitability.
I also think this is why Floyd isn't a priority for Arum to make right now. If Manny is under Arum for 5 fights, why put his "apex" fight with Floyd at fight #2? If Manny loses and say screw it I'm going strictly Congress, Arum loses out on 3 fights of big money. The Floyd fight will happen when Manny is about to retire or his contract is up and Arum has drained every dollar out of him, then he'll cash in the big chips on the Floyd fight.
This fight not happening now is strictly for business reasons only. Not blood tests, catchweights, or anything else.
