My Report from the Honda Center

I was seated in the front row just behind Press Row(I was seated behind Steve Kim, the boxing writer) LB per LB the best seats I've ever had, I've had ringside seats before, but, they always stick me right behind the ring posts.

I don't remember all the undercard bouts that i watched. But, the one that stood out was this JMW or MW fight between this Mexican kid, Pinzon, and I think his opponent was an Armenian(I think), short and stocky, kinda reminds me of the MMA fighter Manny Gamburyan.

Anyway, I can't believe these dudes were 54lber or 60lbers, the two looked closer to being 140-47lbers. Anyway, Pinzon was jabbing and moving nicely in the early rounds and landing some clean, solid shots and actually KD'd the Armenian in the early rounds, I thought it was gonna be an early night. But, the tide changed, the Armenian was just a bull, taking all kinds of shots. The Armenian's overhand right found its mark and just kept landing it throughout the bout. i think he just wore out Pinzon with the pressure and the ref ended up stopping the fight.

The celebrities that were there, well, Ines Saenz was there. I'm not really a big fan of hers, her face does look better in person, however, she does not look as shapely as she does in those pictures, and definitely not as top heavy either, overall good looking nonetheless.

I saw her again at D'town Disney with husband(could be her b-friend) and her two kids.

Donaire's wife, is short and is thick all around(in the right places), thicker than those pics we've seen of her. Her face, nevermind, but, she has that horny look, so I'd hit it, hehe.

I could've sworn it was MAB seated at the end of one of the ring posts doing sports commentating. Not sure

Juanma Lopez was there, but I saw him from far away. Miguel Cotto I saw up close, he was kind of of a snob. His face looked like he just finished a fight, his skin complexion is darker in person than what we see on tv. Short stocky motherf**ker.

I'll tell you what the highlight of the night was, it was Sidorenko's cheering section(all three of 'em 2 females and a dude) They were seated on the other isle/same row as me. I am telling you, the two Russian girls were the finest ones in the buiding, and that's comparing them to Ines Saenz and that other TR sports reporter!

Anyway, back to boxing, Man, I had the slightest idea who Sidorenko was(just a few Y*utube vids of his and his fight background). But, when these two finally got in the ring, it looked like PAC-'Rita all over again. The size difference was huge. It was just unfair, especially against highly accurate fighter and add the reach advantage. Total mismatch.

Soto vs Antillon. I wasn't keeping score, but, from what my eyes told me. I didn't think the fight was that close, I'd give Antillon at the most 3 rounds. All he did was eat uppercuts and follow Soto around the ring for the most part. He's one tough motherf**ker, though. I've watched Soto fight live before, but, being this much closer to the action. He is quicker than i'd previously thought.

Good stuff man. I'm glad you went. I considered going but the cold weather turns me into a pu$$y and i just bought the ppv.

    A) how many people do you think showed up?

    B) Was the crowd aware of how good the Soto/Antillon fight was? Meaning, did they know they were watching something special and did the atmosphere reflect it?

    C) Hopefully now people appreciate what a skilled technician Soto is after that.

I don't wanna hear anymore from Jrosales13 that Soto would've lost to Peterson.

That Donaire/Sidorenko fight was brutal too.

I figured that first uppercut broke his nose in the first round. Then that last right hand that put him down must've just crushed it.

      Painful to watch.

I read in a article that the attendance was 3,000 plus.

I'm not good with estimating crowd size, but, from the looks of it, it seemed more than P-Will-Sergio's rematch and definitely bigger than Berto's fight, hehe

I will say this, the crowd was lively. It was a good atmosphere in there. There was some crass stuff(as in any boxing event) being yelled out by a few fans towards Buffer, I don't know why, but, Michael was hearing them for sure, lmao

          B) Was the crowd aware of how good the Soto/Antillon fight was? Meaning, did they know they were watching something special and did the atmosphere reflect it?
Yes, they were, definitely. To be honest with you, basing from the threads about this particular fight. It wasn't the war that everyone thinks it was, then again I wasn't the one taking the punches.

I just saw Soto dominate that fight. He did get rocked though, towards the late rounds and seemed to have lost some steam. But, Antillon leading with his head the whole time just kept eating uppercuts, Soto's movement threw him off, he kept getting turned, that's how I saw it. And Soto is much quicker than I previously thought, i think he is actually quicker than Donaire.

          C) Hopefully now people appreciate what a skilled technician Soto is after that.
I always thought he was a pretty good boxer. But, his speed last night surpised me.

But, for those people who say PAC ducked him. I think PAC would've killed him, imo. He may have given PAC fits, just because he move around a bit and has some speed. But, PAC is much, much faster is a southpaw, crazy stamina and hits really hard. And I used to think Soto would be a stiff challenge for PAC.

Having seen PAC and Soto live. PAC is way above him in every department.

Let me recant my statement regarding the crowd's reaction in what was happenin' in the Soto-Antillon fight. I think the crowd really got into it towards the later rounds. But, again, for the most part Soto was in control. I mean, some of the fans were yelling for Antillon to jab. They just didn't understand why Antillon would just go in head first, no feints or jabs. He was Soto's punching bag for the most part.
