Wow. Do they want to ruin him? Mickey is a good fighter but he's only 22 (will be 23 in on 12/15). He's still what I call a one-two fighter; meaning, all he really throws is a jab followed by a right-cross. The only way he seems to throw combinations is if he gets somebody hurt (and I've noticed that in his last couple of fights). Problem is, even though he's got a good punch, there are times when he's not gonna hurt someone. I honestly feel that if his manager wants to get him a championship fight, he should go with the winner of the Hazegawa/Gonzales fight. Hazegawa is a good fighter but does not belong at featherweight; Jhonny, on the other hand, is also a good fighter but doesn't get any help from his chin.

This **** better just be a rumor, Arum is making me sick already with his bull****, they need to fight now - you keep putting them in with bums and by the time they fight no one will giv a **** about these two guys. Tired of seeing Juanma and Gamboa fight wack or old past prime fighters that **** is old already. Wish these were the old days mother***as just fought the best, tought fights one after another.

how much do you need to build up a fight? this is too much already,they were supposed to fight last june,nothing,this june in 2011 and now probably nothing too...and whats funny is watch someone here say that they are "building up the fight some more"...and when arum says chavez jr isn't going to fight cotto,they say "he is ducking cotto"...i see nothing different in both fights,both are being protected....i guess arum saw that a shot fighter in marquez wobbled him and hit him quite often,imagine a younger,stronger faster guy??..thats why arum is kind of going to wait on that one...nothing different here between chavez/lopez,both are being protected for the moment

I knew that fight wasn't going to push through. Too good to be true coming from top prank. Juanma fights another past prime fighter in march, and a gimme fight in June. Gamboa probably will unify with John, then get a couple of tuneups. Not surprised, its not going to happen this next year.
Top Rank is indeed the or one of the top dog promoter, and they take advantage of it doing whatever they want. Juanma vs Gamboa is due, they will get no bigger outside of their home countries, and countrymen in the US.
Mikey Garcia vs Juanma good fight but don't get your hopes up, Mikey could and most likely will develope a bigger fan base than Gamboa, and Arum will try to hype the fight for 2012. Expect Juanma to fight a bum or two on the way, that's just how it works.
