I think they're still not considered pro. They're eligible for the Olympics still if I remember correctly. Probably something about not getting paid per fight but rather getting paid a salary being on a team.

A guy from my gym fights on the Memphis Force. Rob Brant. And they are NOT professionals. They are still amateur fighters, which is why you can tell a difference between style.Comment

I know that already but some amateurs transition well and look like pros in their debuts like Benavidez.Comment

Well, they haven't had too much time for professional development either, and Benavidez is mother****ing Benavidez, haha. Rob fought about three or four months ago in a normal amateur match, showing the transition is short. Normally there is a larger training period when someone is preparing for their pro debut. Also, I'm almost positive they're using mostly amateur coaches for the teams (Olympic coaches?) , so that has to be factored into development to. I'm not quite sure, but I think it's also Olympic style scoring to? I'm probably wrong, I'm not sure.Comment
