  • Why does Mannys opponent have to be marketable?

According to Pac fans, manny is the draw. Manny can fight just about anybody and make the kind of money he wants, and since Manny does'nt fight for money his opponent being "Marketable" should'nt be the problem.

I know it's a pretty open ended topic, but if this aint some smoke and mirrors bullshyt I don't know what is.

Berto.. even tho Manny would beat him, is more of a threat than Mosley. And he brings the same if not more to the table than Clottey.

[Martinez.. Biggest threat, brings more to the table than any other option besides Floyd or JMM. (Am I wrong?). Too big? No.... If Serg is too big for Manny he's too big for Floyd rite?

JMM.. JMM wants the fight, brings way more to the table than Marg, Clottey and I'd say Hatton also..
Of all the above mentioned JMM is the most sellable (If marketability is what's needed). Honestly it's the easier fight, seeing as tho Manny is bigger faster and stronger now.

If Manny is not gonna be fighting a real threat (Mosley was a threat before Floyd showed us how past it he really is.) I don't see how people continue to pump this guy up to be any good... I admit Manny is good but be real, he's just taking advantage of washed up fighters at this point...

    Is it just me?

you will accept it or not, boxers fight 30% for his fans, 10% for pride and 60% for the payday. That's reality.

Lol yes you are wrong, Martinez is not that known, but he is the toughest besides Mayweather. I do believe Martinez brings more to the table than Joshua Clottey. Actually, any of those 3 you listed bring more to the table than Clottey.

And no Marquez doesn't bring more than Hatton. I would say they're equal. Marquez would have thousands of fans show up, Hatton always had 10-20k fans come to his big fights. But yeah, Marquez is more known that Clottey.

I agree with you bro, but don't sell me the hooker with a pure heart skit... Manny is no different than any other boxer that has laced um up, his fanatics say different tho.
Arum has left it up to Manny and it looks like he's taking the easy route..

If it don't make money it don't make sense. Sure PAC can fight a no name no fan base fighter and make 10mil, but why do that when you can fight a household US name like Mosley and make 20mil.

Is it the fight that were craving for NO, I take that back F@&# NO but boxing is a business first fans 2nd sport.

Boxing economics, it's what its called where better commodity demands higher prize. And no Hatton has brought more to the table than JMM who couldn't even draw flies.

You must be jokin if you think Marquez will win against Pac now. The cry baby is an excellent boxer but Manny is on another level and 3 steps ahead of him now. JMM IMHO is overrated. Style make fights and he presented difficulties for Pac, the same way Pac presented difficulties to him in their 2 fights but Pac would always win 7-8 times if they would fight 10 times.

Honestly, I don't think Manny will gain anything by defeating Marquez again since crybabies will say he just beat an old man who was past his prime. And no, JMM didn't beat Pac twice. First fight was a draw and Pac won the 2nd.
