I am not saying we want to see Mosley vs. Pacquiao and Manny does fight for the fans. But he also fights for money too. If there were no money in it, he wouldn't be here, he would be a full time congressman. But getting the most money means he can dump it into his impoverished country and make it better for his people. So if Arum offers him a few million more for fighting Mosley, he's gonna do that.

Well, as I said earlier, you may have me pegged wrong.Cool, now we can move past this! I guess Mayweather just frustrates me. He will never be what I thought he would be but that's more on me, not on him. So, you like him, I like Pacquiao. Obviously he has done something right. But maybe one day both of us will get lucky and we will know for sure who the better man in the ring is. Until they fight, you can never know for sure. The best thing about boxing is 'anything can happen at any moment'. Just ask Paul Williams!
You, along with other posters, cannot answer my 6 questions about Manny, so you may have found it easier to just peg me as a "*****".
Stylewise, I prefer the skilled technician, but JMM is my boy. Which is why I have been a little grumpy for the last couple of weeks.
I was a Mayweather fan since well before Hernandez, and have been a Mosley fan eveb longer, but it is hard to get excited about someone who puts in an appearance once every year-or-so, and only fights for cheques. I am a fan when he fights, but there are plenty of good fighters out there who I enjoy watching just as much, and I appreciated all/most styles.
I was also a Manny-admirer until a couple of weeks ago.
My point was, a perception of "boring" does NOT = ineffective. It is almost certainly the other way around, in fact, it is undoubtedly the other way around.Comment

If you want to get technical, Mayweather was timing the punch. He threw the "check hook" several times throughout the fight until it connected. When it did, Hatton was introduced to the ring post and his first ever defeat. Which followed to many fans being homeless, weeks of crying by Hatton, use of coke, lots of beer drinking, he got fat, fired his team, and joined with Mayweather Sr to learn how to "box". He was done.Okay, point taken! I didn't buy that fight I watched it a week later and since I already knew what the result was, I wanted to see how the KO came about. It just looked to me that Mayweather was winning easily, no need to step it up. But that was a perfect shot though, it doesn't get much better than that (just like Pacman's was on Hatton, picture perfect left hook).
Point is, I guess that is what happens when you meet a check hook and ring post all at the same time. Its tragic shyt man....Comment

No disrespect to Mosley, I've watched Mosley since my younger days and i admire him for fighting anybody, But he looked average besides the 2nd round against Floyd, and looked below average against Mora. I hate to say it but he's a decaying fighter. If Pacquiao would've fought him before Mayweather did, he would've gotten proper credit, with Mosley coming off a MAJOR win against Margarito, even with the long inactivity. But who knows, sadly boxing is becoming more of a "see your favorite fighter", than what it should be, "see your favorite fighter in a good fight". As soon as these guys retire we will have true fighters fighting to fill the empty throne, but we can only hope. The days of Duran, Hagler, Hearns, Leanord, are far gone, and by the way these fighters pick their easiest opposition, we will never see those days again. Boxing is killing itself.Last edited by ElMeroChingon; 12-04-2010, 07:38 PM.Comment

That is exactly what happened. But Hatton was being clinically broken down up to that point in the fight, and had been offered no chances. He was getting tired, desperate, sloppy, and the hook had just missed prior to that point on more than one occasion as Hatton was coming in.If you want to get technical, Mayweather was timing the punch.
