If Margo whoops Cotto we have to give him the credit we was seeking against Pac. The thing is that he got his ass whooped bad. He also got whooped by SSM and when he tried to avenge his name against a tomato can called Garcia he could't whoop the guys ass. It seems that after the plaster incident he's easier to hit and his punches aren't so strong as before. He did a good fight against Pac but dont forget he is a lot bigger and was a lot heavier. With all that on his favor he only landed one shot to the body that stunned Manny. Besides that we never saw the power we were used to and that harmed Cotto so badly.

That body shot was maybe his only good shot in 12 rounds. You dont have to be a puncher to be able to do some damage here and there, specially to the body. But that wasnt his only punch, he hit Pac several times with good clean shots and nothing happen. After 12 brutal rounds of give and take Mannys face looked pretty good, and we are talking about 17 pounds of difference in favor of Margarito. That is a hell of a difference. I'm not taking nothing away from Margarito, he showed great courage and physical condition. I'm just saying he is not the same boxer we knew before the SSM fight and that looked like a mercy less tornado. That is not what we have seen in his fights agains SSM, Garcia and Pac.

Tony is not the same fighter he was 204 years ago, but that's what inactivity and a brutal loss can do to you. I won't comment on the plaster incidenct because unless he just admits to everything we'll never know.

But back to his performance, the body shot was his only good punch? The first four rounds Tony did well using that jab. Who knew Tony could jab like that?? Instead of using it as a range finder to set up the right, he really shot it out there and did some damage. Garcia did a really good job rebuilding his fighter and having him use the best of what he was working with. He didn't try to recreate the fighter that walked down Kermit Cintron and Golden Johnson.

I also noticed Margarito went right to to instead of doing his usual late start against Pacquiao.

Like I said, If Margarito had looked bad against Pac I would have been the first to throw his ass under the bus, but he fought a hard fight. I will have a C note on him over Cotto, unless Cotto does something remarkable like defeats or does really well against Sergio Martiz.

You say that "we will never know about the plaster"? We might not know about the plaster on other fights before SSM but we all know about the plaster a few hours before loosing bad against SSM. The plaster is a fact, not gossip. He was caught clear and open. The fact that he doesn't admit he knew about it doesn't mean he denies that he had it. His trainer admitted that he used plaster of paris because Margo had to loose a lot of weight before the fight and he wanted to help his boy with something extra.

Anyway, I also agree Margo looked good against Pac because he was in mint condition, he showed heart, and he never tried to quit even though his ass was being whooped badly. I also agree he infringed some damage to Pac, not big time but he hurt Pac a few times. Also agree with you that Cotto has still to prove himself as an elite fighter. So far he hasn't looked so good. But still, based on the fact that this Margarito is far away from the one that beat Cotto in 2008 I would have to believe Cotto holds better chances to beat Margo than Margo to beat Cotto.
