Comments Thread For: Lateef Kayode-Ed Perry Early Results From Chumash

At the Chumash Casino in Santa Ynez, California, Luis Franco (8-0, 5KOs) captured the vacant WBO NABO featherweight title with an eight round disqualification win over Eric Hunter (15-2, 8KOs). It was a very dirty fight from the start of the first round. Hunter was throwing low blows all night long, and using his head in some rounds. It was miracle that single point was taken in the second round. By the eight, the ref had seen enough and called the fight after Hunter landed yet another low blow. Franco was well ahead in the fight at the time of the stoppage.

I'm liking this big Nigerian Kayode. He has a few things to iron out but I definately want to see more of him.

Solid win for Franco as well.

I agree completely, I wonder how much time Freddie needs to get Kayode ready for the Cunninghams and Hucks of the division.

I'm wondering how long he stays at Cruiser. Dude looked pretty huge to me.

I have a feeling that there isn't exactly a bunch of guys that are lining up to face Kayode right now. Could he move up to heavyweight and make some noise there eventually? Dude has some serious power. Perry actually showed a pretty good chin.

I never seen Kayode fight before. He came out and his body was completely covered up and his face, I don't know he had like a submissive look on his face I was thinking, who the hell is this guy? Off came the robe haha

The dump truck driver was pretty cool too, he had a lot of heart, nice head movement. he came to fight. Nice little scrap.

Yeah you gotta respect Ed Perry. He was willing to mix it up but then he quickly realized damn this dude hits hard.

But the fight before that, it got a little boring as it went on even though there was plenty of action because I got the idea that neither guy could crack hard enough to ko the other.
