The kid can really pop. You can tell he is getting faster and way stronger as he get's older. Cotto checked him but he didnt even drop him. People are making to much of that cotto fight because it was the first time a lot of them had seen him. I believe the hype

Its deserved. He's only 20, but he's a very technically skilled fighter and very composed in the ring. When you watch him fight you forget how young he is. People are making way to big of a deal out of him being dropped as a 19 year old. He got up, and won every second of the fight after. Your not going to see too many 19 year olds in the ring with someone as good as Jose Cotto anyway. He's got good power and timing. Not the fastest guy in the world, but his skill and power more then makes up for it.

It's way too early to be making any serious judgments on Alvarez. This post sums up what we know about him so far, he definitely has potential.
