    Cotto

    By Rey Colon

The junior middleweight champion of the WBA, Miguel Cotto, has traveled to California with his legal adviser Gaby Peņagaricano, and other members of his team, for a planned meeting with the Top Rank CO Bob Arum. They wll discuss Cotto's planned return in the month of March and the possible options on the table, which includes a potential fight with Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez, the middleweight champion of the WBC.

Cotto and Martinez would fight at a catch-weight not exceeding 155 pounds and that allows Cotto to go for his fourth world title. The financial terms are likely in the range of 70-30, 65-35 or 50-50, with Las Vegas and New York as the two locations of choice.

On Saturday, Top Rank will present a pay-per-view at the Honda Center in Anaheim with Filipino Nonito Donaire and Wladimir Sidorenko colliding in a bantamweight contest and Humberto Soto and Urbano Antillon will clash for the WBC lightweight crown.

Another Puerto Rican boxer in California to discuss his future, is undefeated WBO featherweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez. Juanma was invited by Arum to attend the event. Juanma is expected to have a meeting with Arum to discuss his next defense, which is going to take place in March at the Roberto Clemente Coliseum in Puerto Rico. Lopez traveled with co-promoter Peter Rivera, vice president of PR Best Boxing.

You can talk a lot of sheat about Cotto if you are a hater, but something you can't deny is that Cotto has been fighting the bigger risk fights (even after the ring assault), real best fights out there, more than any other champion today.
He fought Margacheato after Mosley, fought Clottey, Pacquiao and now is seeking to fight Martinez. His has been fighting the top P4P for a few years now with the exception of tuneup Gomez.
Yuri was sold great before He showed him the big leagues and now if He fights #1 P4P Martinez He is the only champion who is fighting the real top, while Pacquiao keeps fighting tuneups.
In between all the top names in the sport today, Cotto is the biggest warrior in my list.
