When I was in the military we would always argue that an Officer should pass a prerequisite of at least a good 4 years enlisted time on the line.
How can you lead with no experience?
I say yes.
Judges should know what it is like to leave sweat and blood in the ring.
Wouldn't their scoring be more accurate if they had at least a solid amateur fight history behind them?
How can you "Judge" without having experienced?
I see what you mean but to be honest I think it would be the same just as it is now. A boxer judge would probably prefer a particular style over the other one and so forth.

This.
Is probably true, I didn't think of that. Boxer judges would favor styles hard!
wouldn't you? lol at least have the tendency to.
Nope, doesn't make sense when you put it that way.
By this logic, then a judge should just learn how to judge by starting with judging non title fights with unknowns...oh wait...doh.
Your right by your logic the mechanic would have had to be an engine himself before becoming a mechanic...
Look not trying to argue about it just making a point about how we all know judging is commonly a problem in the sport so trying to get a conversation going..why not employ retired boxers with experience? Seem on one hand to be a good way to employ former fighters and possibly enhance the accuracy of the scorekeeping..
