What is the proper game plan to defeat Ward?

Bika was pretty effective early Id say well not really since hes so sloppy but he did keep Wards hands full for a while and muscle on the inside and get some work done..

I always figured a good speedy boxer with movement (kind of like Dirrell except with a desire to win and heart)..can see both Froch and Johnson being a competative match though and both guys hit hard.

strong fast jab and then step in with a headbutt before he does,do this every round and you beat him easy

I think Bute's ability to throw uppercuts stepping backwards gives him a great chance. I thought Dirrell had a good shot too

I agree fully with this post. I loved how the announcers in the Bika fight kept saying it was their styles that caused the headbutts like it was mutual. Then they show the slo mo video and ward's head slams into Bika's head while Bika didn't even move. HOMETOWN REFFING AT ITS GREATEST!

(but not as great as the Bute debacle)

put a focused dirrell in front of him in a neutral location and ward loses...

Carl Forch would beat Ward for my money.

He doesn't get pushed around or bullied by Ward, is the stronger and bigger man and hits harder than Ward.

Also, in the AA fight, Froch showed that he was willing to get his punches in after the bell when AA was hitting him.. so he can fight dirty too and retaliate if needed against Ward.
