BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards

I just saw the final 10 nominations which goes to the public vote. I cant say i was surprised to see Haye was nominated (dissapointed but not surprised), but i was curious who all was concidered for the final shortlist.

A list of papers/magazines were told to send in their top 10 and the names with the most nominations got selected for the final 10.

    Haye got 16 nominations
    Khan got 3
    Even Ricky Burns got 2

    Froch got none.

In fairness it was probably done before the Abraham fight, but even still, not one vote.

For anyone thats interested here's the final 10.

    Mark Cavendish (cyclist)
    Tom Daley (diving)
    Jessica Ennis (heptathlon)
    David Haye
    AP McCoy (jockey)
    Graeme McDowell (golf)
    Graeme Swann (cricket)
    Phil Taylor (Darts)
    Lee Westwood (Golf)
    Amy Williams (skeleton)

Pretty **** year for sport eh?

Taylor (best darts player ever, winning just about everything - again) or McCoy (most successful jump jockey of all time finally won the grand national for the 1st time)

McDowell should get third for winning the US open and sinking the winning putt in the ryder cup

yeah but if he wins you'd have to listen to that horrible accent in the acceptance speech. 1/2 Northern Irish half yank. Its a bad mix. He had a great year though.

saying as Giggs won it last year, which was more for his whole career than that 1 year, im rooting for Taylor or McCoy as they had great years, and unbelievable careers.

Jessica Ennis should win. She actually dominates her sport. Phil Taylor dominates darts but that's just not a sport.

                    David Haye might win.
