Undefeated contender Saul “Canelo” Alvarez is still seven months shy of his 21st birthday, yet already knows what he wants – and doesn’t care who is in his way in pursuit of his dreams.
“I want to fight everybody.”
That is the simple answer offered by the 20-year old Mexican wunderkind, who is otherwise fully focused on his super welterweight clash with Lovemore N’Dou this weekend at Estadio Beto Avila in Veracruz, Mexico.
There’s a special feel that comes with this fight, thanks to a deal arranged by promoter Golden Boy Promotions have this bout air live on American airwaves. On the heels of securing an output deal with Mexican network giant Televisa, the California-based promotional outfit convinced HBO to carry the bout live on their Latino feed (Saturday, HBO Latino, 11:30PM).
What that means is, it will no longer cost American fight fans the price of a pay-per-view purchase to get a glimpse of the fastest rising young star in the sport today. For at least this weekend, the revolution will be televised, free of charge.
