Astrology In Fighting... Interesting perspective

Let me make myself clear.
Just because you're born a certain sign does not automatically mean that you're going to be good or bad at boxing.
Your sign will determine things like how you react to adversity, aggression, heart, willpower, etc...
Basically astrology is an intangible.Comment

Of course. I'll give you an example where Astrology was overpowered by other factors.
Mike Tyson v. Buster Douglas
Astrologically speaking, Tyson's chart was superior to Douglas'. Yet Douglas scored the upset.
Other factors contributed to the upset like:
* Mike Tyson was dealing with personal turmoil outside of the ring
* Mike Tyson was no longer training seriously
* Mike Tyson's team was unbelievably incompetent at the time
* Buster Douglas used the death of his mother as motivation
Astrology has to be used with the mindset "if all things are even..."
As you know in boxing as well as life, all things aren't always even going into a given event.Comment

But with things rarely being even (assessing whether 2 fighters are evenly matched is very subjective in itself) how do u know the determining factor was astrological?
Could it be that you could first find a pattern in a group of people (lets say world champions who are Capricorns and are power punchers), then project the pattern onto the star sign, saying Capricorns in general are power punchers. Instead of firstly looking at the star signs characteristics, then determining which fighters will be power punchers. Did that make sense?
Looking for commonalities in fighters, then IF they share star signs, crediting Astrology. Whilst dismissing other commonalities between fighters who dont share star signs.Comment

i'm 5-0 since i started this.
i'll keep calling fights based on astrology and see where this goes.
however there will be difficult fights to predict. i would prefer to leave those alone. for example Aries is a wild card. Aries on any given day can beat anybody but can be inconsistent.Comment

the guy born in march loses it looks like.
the other 2 r close.
don't quote me though because astrology is most prevelent at the highest level of combat. in the amature scene and contender scene, the skill level disparity, personal drive disparity, and athleticism disparity can be a total toss-up. i mean the guy with the stronger cchart can be someone with a crap trainer and is completely out of shape. as i've always said, a skilled aquarius would beat an unskilled capricorn.
but at the highest level of competition those factors are buffed out and comparative. that is why astrology can be prominent then.Last edited by Rassclot; 02-15-2011, 05:30 PM.Comment
