He's too slow to beat Martinez. He gets taken apart and possibly stopped late. Cotto maintains his skills but his power isn't what it was as a WW. No way it bails him out against a Sergio Martinez as a JMW. His chin's been broken as well. Terrible fight for him at this point in time.

the speed isn't the problem w/ cotto.

it's always the lack of stamina and the porous defense with cotto.

but i agree he lack of power to keep martinez honest and the cracked chin isn't gonna help him.

I think they should settle the issue inside the ring!

Let them fight in New york, Yankee stadium!

Martinez is too big for Cotto...but he has balls so he most likely would take this fight.

Give him just a little movement and he looks lost.

Cotto has a good track record against slick fighters or fast boxers(Not Pac).

Its like when Julio who is bigger than Cotto got beat by Quintana and than Cotto beat Quintana.

Cotto was better equipped for the fight even though Julio was the bigger guy with a stronger punch.
joel julio was doing pretty good trying 2 box w. angulo and he cant box 4 ****. sergio would make him look like a fool.

I don't think Cotto wins, but he would be more competitive than most would think.

He's still an elite fighter. How many guys would you pick to beat Cotto around his weight division? Maybe Mosley, Margarito, Pacquiao, and Floyd? Mosley and Margarito would be toss ups too.

cotto is a little undersized for martinez, but if he wants it, i say let him
