    New found respect..

for the warriors that step into the ring. After 20 or so days of training I just had my first sparring session like half an hour ago, it was OK, we both landed our shots though the other guy was about 20 pounds bigger than me.

I was a little dazed afterwards and was very tired, barely had any strength for hit the heavy and the speed bag. My trainer told me it was normal for me to feel a bit dizzy after my first ever sparring session.

Anyway you should think again before you ever call this guys names and stuff especially if you've never stepped into the ring before. Few people have the courage of those guys that risk their life everytime they step into the ring.

Good for you. Just make sure you are well aware of the risks, you can get permanently hurt even in sparring if you're not careful and serious about it. Same thing for your partner. I understand that you are supposed to hurt each other, but I always tell people not to put any unnecessary punishment on the other guy. Headgear won't protect you from concussions. You're all doing this for the love of the sport, not to beat the **** out of people. And fighters who turn pro with that latter mentality usually don't get very far with the exception of few who aren't very likable guys.

I have never called any boxer a coward, nor will I ever. Those guys have more courage in their fingernail than 90% of the posters here.

Yeah my trainer, one of the best in PR, advice me beforehand and whenever one of us was in a position to get three or four clean power shots because the other guy has his hands down he yelled to us to back off a bit.

He made the point that you go hard in sparring but not to the point of loading up on your punches to try and hurt the other guy.
