By labeling him a "decent" win.

Mosley was 37 when he faced Marg and Marg was 30 when he faced Cotto does anything else need to be said? 1 fight before Cotto Margarito beat up and dispatched of Cintron, Mosley struggled for 12 rounds before knocking out a faded version of Ricardo Mayorga. Still having problems?
The Mayorga fight was at '54, where Mosley has never had business being, see his contests there as opposed to the fight right before Mayorga when he was in a tight bout with Cotto. I guess Mosley was a "decent" win for Cotto as well...

At 38 coming off a 15 month layoff. Mosley didnt belong in the ring with elites at that time in his career and Floyd proved it. Nothing has been tarnished. Its much more damaging to Mosleys legacy to assume he was at the peak of his powers when being completely dominated for 10 rounds against Floyd.

Nobody stated he was at his peak. I do though remember how the media, boxing fans, and Pac followers called for Mayweather to stop ducking Mosley and fight him once Berto pulled out. Apparently, Mosley wasn't shot then.

Floyd did the right thing in fighting Mosley.

He should of fought Mosley, IMO.

I think the debate here is... just how good was the win, based on Mosleys abilites at the time of the fight... rather than just look at where he was ranked.. because the ranking was based off a performance from a year and a half ago, and seemingly was inflating the general thought of what Mosley realistically had left in May of 2010.

Completely understand, reed. Perhaps if Mosley gets the job done in the second round, there's a different tune. Just from my stance, I don't think Mosley was a shot fighter going into the Mayweather bout. I see where you guys are coming from about the layoff though.

Also, not trying to beat a dead horse here on the "frustration" point Gambler was making, but I remember Ray Leonard stating that "speed nullifies power, strength, everything..." and that Nelson was getting "frustrated" when he fought Pernell Whitaker. Although Pacquiao is no Whitaker.

And I agree... Mayweather could of had everything to do with that performance.. until 4 months later Mosley got in the ring again, against a fighter that isn't 15% of what Floyd is.. and he didn't look any different.

Were you surprised by that though, Reed?
