kelly pavlik back in rehab

His career being over is up to him. It doesn't have to be, but beer and alcohol ages your body and your system... but he has a better chance to bounce back than Hatton does. I don't have sympathy for Pavlik; consider the area he reached and the chance he was given, then think of all the worthy boxers who don't give in to their ego, who don't give in to their demons, who take it like men and act like champions. It's one thing if his kid is in the hospital or something. Getting wasted is an indulgence- it's selfish, and self-absorbed. Pavlik can come back, but he's a quitter as of now. Count on it.
If he *does* come back, he'd be smart to get a new team. A new game plan. I've said this long before his personal troubles. His team has had a Plan A... never a plan B, C, etc. People like Bernard Hopkins are the Alphabet of boxing. Pavlik could improve his chances with a better trainer, and less enablers.Comment

You are right, especially losses like those. The loss to B-Hop was especially damaging, like a mental ****. Bernard Hopkins is the kind of boxer to make you doubt yourself for a long, long time. Pavlik's ego was built up, and they never considered he could be beat. You can't fight Gary Locketts forever, though.Comment
