This isn't even an issue. If JMM signs to fight at 147 he can come in at 100 if he wants to.

I don't see a problem with this. There wouldn't be any size difference come fight night anyway. Unless people think Marquez can't win without draining Pac.

Doesn't he have to be at least one pound over 140?

Pac wasn't even 147 for the 154 belt at the weigh in.

So pretty much the consensus is yay....Just sign the contract to fight at 147lbs...and come in at whatever JMM feels is his best weight (135-140lbs) and fight the dam fight. Right?

So why not just let Marquez weigh in at whatever he wants or where he feels most effective at (weigh in 135-137lbs re-hydrate to 145-146lbs) and let Manny weigh in at 144-145lbs and re-hydrate to 148lbs...

Probably not as easy to execcute as it sounds....but in theory...both would be coming in well under the 147lbs "limit" that Team Pac wants and both would be re-hydrated back to optimum weight come fight night....

              Yay or Nay?
Why would either fighter cut and rehydrate unnecessarily? This is why whatever weight they choose between 140-147 is pretty arbitrary. If the fight is contracted at 147, it's not like Pac is gonna cut to 147 and balloon up to 160 overnight. Marquez was flabby when facing Floyd because he probably felt he needed the extra weight to hang with the much bigger man. Against Pac, there is no issue about being undersized.

Well said.....neither will come in at 147lbs....and both won't be re-hydrating over 150lbs...
