Both. Obviously he's extremely talented but lately his match-making has been slightly flattering.

One of the best fighters ive ever seen - A True Great.

But yes the catchweights cheapen his accomplishments and he has been matched with straight at u type of fighters (tough ones tho they are) which may flatter.

But make no mistake the boy can FIGHT

        It is both...

And although some of the matchmaking has been in house...

None of those guys were bums...

Hatton, Cotto, Clottey, Margarito.... none are bums, some better than others... but all have been champions, either at the time or previously.... (I think Clottey won a belt by beating Judah)

If Manny didnt have great skills.. he would have lost to these guys.

i say both BUT, if he didnt fight these bigger guys, who would he fight? floyds on vacation. bradley/alexander/berto are all nobodies and unproven. that leaves shane, who everyone says is old and JMM, who will have to come back to 147.

Clottey is not a legit contender anymore, and Margarito is shot. If he is not shot, then I don't know what is.

Aside from that, those are both great match-ups for Manny's favor. They're flat footed, slow handed, come forward guys who simply do not possess the speed to catch Manny.

Manny's career since 2005 has been mostly superb matchmaking.

When they took on the fight with Morales that they lost, that was good matchmaking. Morales was slipping and thought to have nothing left and Roach was quoted as saying "He is shot, we're going to walk right through this guy."

That's just a testament as to how Manny is not quite as good as most people people. It's hard to say now, as the wool over everyone's eyes is so thick, but we have not seen him fight a game opponent in years, so we can only assume its the excellent matchmaking of Bob Arum.

I'd say more skill than matchmaking, but still a bit of both worlds.

It's hard to say that it was match making when the opponent is so much bigger, just doesn't seem completely true.

I'd say a little of both. Its obvious that some matchmaking was being made there, but it really took skills to beat those guys, and the way he beat them.
