Why does Roach turn down catch weights from lower levels when he was doing such himself? I He makes all the big guys come down and now all the little guys come up. Is 144 really that bad or is he just nervous that JMM is still dangerous at 144 and needs all the advantage he can get for his fighter. He should trust his fighter. Pac has beaten great names but which were in their primes? I only give him credit for Cotto all the rest were tailor made or weight drained. I dont beleive pac does roids he has just been matched just right with fighters tailor made for him. Now he wants to match Pac with Mosely. Really? Did his draw with Mora impress Roach that much that he said this is our next top opponent! "Now lets see how low he can go"? He keeps pac in the same weight range where he is comfortable. So come fight night Pac comes in perfect weight not even at the agreed weight but his opponents have dropped so much weight they cant recoup. Im really starting to see through all these smoke and mirrors. He stopped fighting the best after JMM. Once he weight drained DLH he stayed with the weight draining practice. But now that someone asked him he says no. I dont blame Pac for this cause I know he would fight anyone but we know he doesnt pull the strings here.
Catch weights....Why is ok for some but not others?

What I think jmm should do is train to come in at 135(or 137 even). That way he would be 144-145 fight night. If manny can come in below the limit why not jmm. Unless roach says he has to make 147. Which would be crazy. -
It depends who you ask. For real boxing fans, it's not ok. For Pacquiao fans, it's just what's fair because it isn't fair for Manny to fight bigger guys because he is smaller and has already moved up 40 pounds since starting his career.
I never bought that, that is not my personal excuse, but it's what I've read from a ton of different posters. It seems that Roach will use an excuse, and Pac followers will repeat it as fact, as if it makes so much sense it's ****** to believe he should fight at a normal weight limit.
The double standards with his fans really is starting to make them look ridiculous.
Marquez loses to Pacquiao and they all say that he is just a bitter cry baby who is full of excuses, he lost fair and square.
Marquez says he can beat Pacquiao.
Now Marquez has no interest in fight Floyd again.
He says "Floyd is the best boxer I've ever faced, I have no excuse other than he is simply better than me, and better than Pacquiao."
So Pac fans say "Well he had to gain too much weight, and Floyd was simply too big.
Isn't it funny? A guy who supposedly is a cry baby excuse maker isn't even making excuses, but Pacquiao fans will make excuses for him.
It is seriously a joke and if these particular Pac fans could see this from the same perspective as the rest of the world, I'm sure they'd have a laugh.
So which is it? It seems catchweights are OK when they favor your fighter.
We can't even take these people seriously, as they're just fanboys and not actual fans of boxing.Comment

I think so too. He should train at his weight he feels fastest and most powerful and then let the chips fall in the ring. IF roach were to request he come in at 147 then you will truly know how much of a scumbag he is. It would show he really doesnt have the confidence in Pac. I think the weight he came in against Katsidis would be perfect. He looked good and sharp and strong.Comment

That's exactly what would happen.
This has become more about unfair advantages than anything else.
And everyone damn well knows it.Comment

Dela Hoya himself offered to go down to 147. Remember that he was the cash cow at that time and was the one dictating the terms.Comment

Because when you're the draw, you make the terms
Whats so hard to understand here?
Manny is the One selling millions of PPV and he has the powerComment
-
LOL.
I thought this was exactly what Pacquiao fans were AGAINST?
When it came to Mayweather, "being the draw doesn't matter". Now, all of a sudden, it does matter?
Pathetic.Comment

I agree. If you wanna fight bigger opponents then thats your business meet them at the correct weight. I really hated that they win belts at catchweights. If the belt was won at 155 then win it at 155. Catchweights are ok I guess maybe in Megafights and both agree to them where they feel they both will be comfortable. Seems like every fight as of late is a catchweight fight. The fighters lately just agree to the weights so they can get paid. That is it. Martinez said it best and hes smart not to play into roaches little tricks.Comment

Please.
Just as there are idiot Floyd fans, there are also idiot Pac fans. That doesn't mean ALL floyd/pac fans are idiots.
I myself prefer Pac to face Marquez at 140, Martinez at 154 and finally Floyd at 147, and i WILL NOT pay to watch a Pac/Mosley fight.Comment
