He should have stayed Southpaw, but I read that his trainer made him switch to Orthodox which is why his footwork is off at times.

Yea. The alcohol is partly to blame I think. Also, Margaracheato....

Birth of Cotto the HBO hype job. He barely beat a shot old Mosley and was running from Clottey haha.

His defense has always been susceptible to the right hand, which Yuri landed at will in their fight.

His footwork and sharp combination punching is what always impressed me.

He lacked killer instinct and made it look very hard to "close" out a fight. He had Pacquiao rocked and stopped throwing punches. It was a 3 punch combo. Right hook to the body, followed by a right uppercut, then a straight overhand left. Pacquiao was rocked but Cotto had stopped throwing.

Typically you throw a combo, and if you don't hurt a guy, you stop and weave, or move or get out of the way, whatever your style is.

He just stood there. He could have put him down had he kept throwing, IMO.

He has always been like that though, and now that he is fighting better competition, he can't put people down with a 3 punch combo.

              He has to keep punching.
