JMM flew to Manilla to get a 3rd fight with Pac and Pac said he would fight him a 3rd time, but backtracked on his word.Comment

This is categorically a falsehood.
Ambushed while watching a boxing match, Pacquiao committed to
nothing specific. He was rudely asked if he was a coward and he
answered JMM in the negative. When asked to sign a fight contract
then and there, he tried to take a look at it, but JMM and handlers
started calling him a coward for hesitating. Cooler heads intervened
before things got out of hand --and this is on video.
JMM wasn't out to secure a fight, he was trying to embarrass Pac,
else he wouldn't have acted so rudely. Later that week, JMM taunted
Pac in a radio interview, when suddenly Pac called in to chide JMM
for his whining. "Stop crying about your loss" was the key salvo, and
JMM went quiet for what seemed like half a minute, forcing the station
to go to a commercial break.
After that, Pac went on to bigger and better things.
When very recent attempts were made to secure Pac-JMM 3, Pac
did consent in principle, but pending acceptable terms. The moment
JMM made his demand for a 50-50 purse split, he was dismissed as
just trolling again.Last edited by horge; 11-29-2010, 01:05 AM.Comment

The radio interview was in early April of 2008.
I'll try to find the TV broadcast of both JMM's ringside taunting,
and of the verbal slapdown he just sat there and took, at the
radio station (a video clip of Pac's call and JMM's reaction made
the evening news back then)
Damn, there were several threads about it here on NSB at the time.
When JMM got to Manila, and showed up at the Penalosa-Vorapin
main event, Pacquiao and the Filipino crowd welcomed JMM warmly,
applauding him every time his face was shown on the Jumbotron,
but the whiny ****sucker repayed the welcome with in-your-face
rudeness.

Over the next several days, weeks, months...
Pac said repeatedly, "I'll fight you anytime anywhere.
I won't make you wait 4 years like you made me wait, so long as
the terms are acceptable" --but the terms DEMANDED by JMM
were consistently ridiculous.Last edited by horge; 11-29-2010, 01:39 AM.Comment
