Weight shouldn't be an issue in Pac-JMM

Pac has weighed 148 on fight night for his last three measured fights over the last two years, (DLH,Hatton,Margo), even though the weight limits were 140, 147, and 150. It's pretty clear that's what weight he will fight at.

JMM came in at 145 last night at a limit of 135. If the fight is at 147 I'm assuming he would come in a couple pounds heavier, but probably not much more.

So if the limit is 140, 147, 154, or even 160, the fight would still be Pac at 148 and JMM right around 148. If the fight's at 147 neither of them drains and both come in at their best weight. If it's at 140 they both have to drain a bit, but not much, and certainly not enough to affect who wins.

I think JMM knows this and that's why he said he'd fight at 147. Against other WW's it could make a big difference, but since Pac is only going to weigh 148 it's not a big deal. (And like Arum suggested, they could put in a clause to punish either fighter if they come in fight night at 150)

jmm was interviewed LAST NIGHT and said that if manny fought 'Rita at 144, why does he want to fight JMM at 147.

No **** it's not an issue. The issue is the bigger draw gets to extract certain concessions from his opponent.

Just like when Floyd makes his opponents like Shane beg and jump through hoops-- it's just how it works. If JMM don't like it he can drink piss.

he also stated that theres no problem at 144-142 catchweight and if 147 is what pacquiao wants then 147 it is- but im pretty sure people will b!tch about the catchweight and the 147?

Weight issues will be the last roadblocks for this fight. It may be the money. And until Marquez makes the first move and declares his terms, this fight won't inch forward.

There seems to be a bidding war going on now and maybe some are in secret negotiations. As I see it, Arum will never make the first move when it comes to GBP.

Shane Mosley is only waiting for a go signal, I presume. Dibella and others may be in secret talks with Arum, who knows?

So, make the first move Marquez, if you want the fight. Even then there are no guarantees.
