Last night, the referee did exactly the same thing in the Ward-Bika fight.

Bika landed a good punch, and then the ref pushed him back and admonished him.

Andre Ward = Bernard Hopkins (in his dirty style) + Sven Ottke (in being very protected and assisted by crooked referees)

Ward does not get half the "hometown cooking" that Ottke got....

Ottke had numerous gift decisions. I have yet to see one gift decision that Ward had received.

Yes he does, but then again its still kinda early in his career, he gets a W in the Oracle everytime.

Ward would be disqualified for all the holding and headbutting he does if he fought like that anywhere else.

I'm not talking about gift decisions. The way the damn ref treas the foes of the hometown fighters AND them fighting in their hometown.

It all depends on the ref, if the ref allows inside fighting then no he would not be DQ'd, because Ward is slick(meaning hard to get caught not slick as in Pep) with his rough style ala Hopkins who did it beautifully as well. Did B-Hop get DQ'd every time? Was it a hometown cooking for him too? Hell Bika is just as rough and dirty as Ward is...

And, if the ref is a jumpy ref that does not allow inside fighting then, Ward would probably fight from a distant and range not so close up.

Fact is ever decision that Ward has received had earned. Can't say the same thing for Ottke. When Ward get hit cleanly in the face and the ref starts warning the other guy for it. Then make that comparison until then no..........

Crooked home referees can have the same effect on the outcome of a fight as crooked judges.
