Comments Thread For: Holyfield vs Nielsen Agreement is Reach For March 5

According to Scott Shaffer, attorney for Sauerland Event, a deal has been reached for Danish boxer Brian Nielsen to face former four-time world heavyweight
champion Evander "Real Deal" Holyfield (43-10, 28KOs) on March 5, 2011. The 48 year old Holyfield last appeared in the ring in April when he knocked out Francois Botha. Nielsen (64-2, 43KOs), 45, hasn't fought since 2002 when he won a unanimous decision over Uriah Grant in his native Denmark. Holyfield-Botha will also take place in Denmark, where Nielsen is still a very popular sports figure.

WAAAR NIELSEN!!!!!! Hahaha this fight has freakshow written all over it. But I like Nielsen and he was the first danish champion I saw, so I got a lot of history with this guy, I remember me and my father always saw him back in the day.

I wouldn't bet on it. As far as I know he has been living the sweet life since retiring and with the knee injury I doubt he'll see the final round.

I don't mind Holyfield boxing as long as he stays on the "old man tour" against the likes of Nielsen and Botha.

Nielsen will probably be in woeful shape after 8 years out of boxing.

Dam, I remember having fight parties at my crib with Holyfield in the main event. That was a loooooooooooooong time ago.

And the sad thing is that when it's all said and done Hoylfield is going to look like a bobble head at ring side during big fights.
