Promoter Lou DiBella advised BoxingScene.com that he is working on a fight between former welterweight champion Kermit Cintron (32-3, 28KOs) and WBO light middleweight champion Sergiy Dzinziruk (37-0, 23KOs). DiBella cautioned that the fight still has a way to go to be solidified. The plan is to have the winner face WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez in the second half of next year. Both Dzinziruk and Cintron are having a real tough time getting opponents to face them.

This fight can't happen unless serge wanta to give up his wbo belt... The wbo has mandated that he fight two mandatories and cintron is not in the top 3... Pwill was #1 mand and #2 is Chavez jr and then it's vanes martirosyan.... Maybe the first two won't take the fight but I know vanes has been wanting this fight for a long time and so his time and wish may be here... Cintron will take a back seat on this one...

Honestly I'd rather see Dzinziruk fight Vanes instead of Cintron. Especially if the winner is going to want a shot at Sergio Martinez.

I'd like to see Dzinziruk fight Vanes too. It's funny, first Dzinziruk gets screwed by Universum, then he comes to America and signs with Shaw, then Shaw won't let him fight Angulo, and refuses to make a fight with Vanes.
