but how many on here complained about floyd fighting an inactive de la hoya after a year layoff when floyd wanted to fight oscar in september 2006, after he knocked mayorga out---but oscar didn't want to fight in 2006--so he fought floyd in may of 2007 at his natural weight class at the time and defended his legit title, not vacated, not won at a catchweight, but honestly earned--and lost fair and square to floyd---yet, because oscar was inactive, no different than floyd was when he fought marquez and shane--yet floyd doesn't get his just due for it?

you guys are starting to develop a pattern of double standards when regarding floyd and manny---shame on you fools

There really is no difference with what Floyd did and what Manny did. I would actually argue Floyd's win over ODLH was better.

Why??

- ODLH came in at 154, Margo came in at 150.
- ODLH was coming off a KO defeat of Mayorga where he looked good and nearly finished it in the first round. The fight before that was against Hopkins where he was doing ok until the bodyshot.
- Margo got destroyed by Molsey, and had one fight against Garcia where he didn't look all that spectacular. Also consider the wear and tear....Williams, Cotto, Clottey, SSM etc etc. Marg takes alot of punishment.
- Margarito outweighed Manny by 17 pounds.
- Mayweather weighed 150 on fight night (Floyd's walking around weight is 156------> i can prove it's about there and his uncle even stated as such recently). Oscar we can assume was above 160 as with his other JMW fights. So he would have outweighed Floyd by a minimun of 10 pounds, likely 14 or 15 pounds.
- ODLH is better than Margarito. He is faster, has a tighter defense and has more power and boxing ability/technique/intelligence.

So really is what Manny did more impressive than what MAyweather did. Both men fought a JMW as a WW, but ODLH was able to come in at 54, was the champ and the real kicker is BETTER than Margarito was then or EVER.
