I'm sick of these AAs clinching and hittin' and praised for it. WTF. I'd hate to bring this fighter's name up, but John Ruiz was the butt of jokes due to this type of fighting.

But when a fighter like Ward and Wife Beater, they are praised for that type of strategy, as if it's some great athletic feat.

I will never be a Ward fan despite his being American, undefeated, a decent personality.. It's like he's cheating with his strategy. I think proper refs should reign him in on his style. In his defense, and I still don't condone his style.. It's one of his more aesthetically pleasing performances. That's really not saying so much. If everyone applied his **** strategy. Boxing would be unwatchable.

Shane and Wife Beater are the same way, more or less. I have a feeling that if PAC and Vacation Boy ever get it on, we're gonna see John Ruiz reincarnated as an African-American midget.

African-American midget doesn't have the same legs to run around like he used to and he has to find a way to negate PAC's assault and it's gonna be done via lead rights and clinch, rinse and repeat.

Lay and pray is ineffective, while hit and hold is actually very effective.

It is the easiest way to hit and not get hit back, you may not like how it looks but the style does have merit based on it's overall effectiveness. If a fighter doesn't know when to clinch they will pretty much never be that good~

No wonder GSP is so effective with it. Eversince he got KTFO by Serra its been his bread n' butter. That's just one example.

you have no clue on the difference between active ground game and lay and pray...GSP had multiple sub attempts in his last fight, as well as constant positional improvements..but anyways just like someone mentioned the clinch game in boxing can do more damage and is more tactical than lay and pray..

This thread is an Epic failure, clinching has been a part of boxing from the begining. Know nothing fans like TS need to shut up and find something else to watch if they don't like it.

You're obviously unaware that hitting and holding is actually an illegal manuever in boxing.

Only in boxing will you get 1000 warnings and not get f**kin' penalized. You would literally have to bite someone's ear off to get DQ'd, lmao.

I have no problem with clinching, but, when it seems like clinching is your main strategy that's just a b*tch move in my opinion.
