  • What is Manny Pacquiao's natural weight class?

"...he's fighting at 147, that's now his natural weight, and that's where we're going to campaign at."

-Freddie Roach on fighting Marquez, Alexander, or Bradley

That's funny because when Pacquiao fought Cotto at catchweight a year ago all of his fanatics were screaming that Pacquiao was a blown up lightweight and that the catchweight was fair because of the size advantage Cotto had.

If he's a natural lightweight or Jr Welterweight, he would have no problem fighting Marquez at 140 or at very least a catchweight.

Also, when he was challenged by Martinez for his 154lb title at 154, his fans said Pac's a natural 140 pounder and pointed out that he had to eat just to make 144.

So, what's Pacquiao's natural weight class

    Just to clarify

Vs Cotto last year: A blown up lightweight

Vs a possible Marquez fight: A natural welterweight

    Vs Margarito: 144

Vs Martinez: A natural 140 pounder

Whatever weight class benefits Pacquiao at the time of the fight is his 'natural' weight class. Its the way it goes.

        Well in todays game

His natural weight class would be 140....If he did all the dehydrating etc...

But obviously him and roach feel eating and having breakfast he feels best, so 147...

But i think 140 would be his most dominant weight class....and 147 would be most natural, because full hydrated and all, he will only weight around that

Wasn't it? Considering the Jr Middleweight limit is 154?

Look at the fight night weight for the Diaz fight...and the Margarito fight.

It's more beneficial to him than it was to Margarito, which is why they asked for it in the first place.
