Comments Thread For: Random Holiday Musings: Mayweather, Pacquiao, More

By Keith Idec - As we prepare to watch five fights this Thanksgiving weekend, it seems like an appropriate time to appreciate some of the combatants in Showtime’s doubleheader and HBO’s tripleheader.

Manny Pacquiao, the humble humanitarian with much more important things on his mind than boxing, and Sergio Martinez, the modest, movie star-looking middleweight champion with the strong social conscience, aren’t the only fighters doing the sport proud both in and out of the ring.

Andre Ward (22-0, 13 KOs), who’ll defend his WBA super middleweight title against Australia’s Sakio Bika (28-4-2, 19 KOs) in Showtime’s main event, is a God-fearing family man who treats his opponents, the residents of his native Oakland, Calif., and seemingly everyone else with respect. Andre Berto (26-0, 21 KOs), the Winter Haven, Fla., fighter who’ll make a mandatory defense of his WBC welterweight title against Mexico’s Freddy Hernandez (29-1, 20 KOs) in HBO’s second bout, has handled a natural disaster in his family’s native Haiti in such an inspiring, philanthropic manner that you hope he makes as much money as possible to aid that cause. wtf kind of article is this? A role model for his kids? What kind of role model are you to your kids Keith Idec? Maybe good according to you but depending on how somebody else measures your goodness you might be a terrible role model. All I want to see is Floyd in the ring. The only reason I'm concerned about his life outside the ring is in hopes that he stays out of jail or prison. Save what you think about these allegations to yourself because they are nothing but allegations. Stop trying to praise other boxers in comparison to Floyd because you dont know anything about their personal life. I'm sure you would say nice things about Hatton had you not known that he snorts multiple lines of *******. Stick to boxing.

This is officially the worst article that I have ever read on boxing scene to date... Not just saying this because I'm a Floyd fan. This is just all speculative BS for real.

I think you're right, however this is just for temporary while on training.. but once Pac demolished him and esp. after realizing his dearest "0 loss record" has gone.. then he will becomes more mad and will go in berserk!

I think from the very beginning, Pac is his worst enemy, because of Pac-phobia he couldn't return to boxing as long as Pac is around, and this is the reasons why his insanity slowly gnawing his mind, making those troubles he rans explicable!

Showtime would love it if HBO didnt back a Mayweather fight. Give me a break Floyd doesnt have to fight Pac Kieth. He doesn't need him. You get in the ring with a roidhead who refuses random testing. Mayweather could fight Martinez & HBO would love to put that PPV together.

This is from the Heat-Sixers notebook..
INSIDE THE ARENA: Boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr. was booed when he was showed on the big screen. Apparently, people want to see him fight Manny Pacquaio.

He even gets booed in a basketball game. Mayweather has got to get his life back on track. His life is a mess and he has to fix it before even thinking about boxing.. I want to see May vs Pac, obviously, but I want to see it when they are both at a 100%. No excuses.

                  Well stated.

And no mention of last weeks reports of Mayweather Foundation giving away turkeys to people. I mean, if you're gonna use every piece of news that happened regarding Mayweather recently, use that one too if you're going to be objective.

Passive-Aggressively this writer tried to come off as fair and balanced but he failed miserably.
