Hopkins TKO over Glen Johnson

I watched the fight, and in the end, the stoppage was rather soft. Johnson wasn't in any trouble, but he did get beat up in a rather one sided fight.

I've heard Johnson talk about the fight, and he doesn't seem to mind that it was stopped and regards Hopkins as the only man to ever truely beat him.

Knowing that the Road Warrior constantly took fights on short notice, does anyone remember if that was the case here?

Does anyone else remember this fight very well?

I just downloaded that fight about three weeks ago (man you gotta love cheap tv fights with commercials and all) anyway you are absolutely right. I dont know the ramifications surrounding the bout and the road warrior was losing but he wasnt getting punished like Trinidad was. Who knows since we cant feel the way glencoffe was feeling, maybe his body was in worse shape than we know. Maybe Hopkins was hurting him worse than he lets on. He is the only man that Glencoffe actually accepts defeat from so that tells it there.

He could have continued, but he had zero chances of winning the fight. It was a blowout...

The ref just thought that it could have only gotten worse for Johnson and stopped the fight, basically looking out for Johnsons well being. It wasn't so much because he was badly hurt, but just because he was taking a hell of a one sided beating.

**** when did that fight take place...like '96? Hopkins was landing a lot of short little right hands and had Johnson a little bit staggered in one of those middle rounds if I can remember right.
