These warnings from Philippine doctors of the health risks of boxing is a constant, tired refrain. The writer is just using it to promote a Pacquiao-Marquez III. If the Pacquiao fans will swallow health risk argument and demand the fight, he thinks Pacquiao can be persuaded to accept a Marquez fight even if Bob Arum says he will get the least guaranteed money for it.
Not likely. Money Pacquiao and Roach said they will fight anyone for the right money. That puts Bob Arum in the driver's seat.

I don't think any REAL boxing fans want to see Mayweather locked out. In all honesty, his legal situation is such a mess right now, he's really not relevant. But, he's still a factor because as long as he's around, there's a question as to who is TRULY the best fighter in the world. In the Mayweather, Pacquaio, Martinez triangle, I'd pick Mayweather to beat Pac, Pac to beat Martinez, and Martinez to beat Money. So we have a pretty good little situation going on at the top of the P4P list. Hopefully, Money can get his life in order because he's a talent and he's a tough out for anyone. Him being included only makes boxing better.

haha. dude, real boxing fans are getting impatient. when a boxer says he is taking a couple years off after defeating shane, then gets into all sorts of crazy antics that keep him AWAY from boxing... a REAL boxing fan wants the sport of boxing to move forward and shine the light on more deserving/hungry fighters...

It isn't a situation of Martinez being too big, its a situation of him being too good. Pac is the WBC 154 champ. Martinez said he's willing to come down to 154 to challenge Pac for his belt. I don't see the problem.

Wait a second, so, a near 170 pounder in Antonio Margarito is not too big, but Sergio Martinez is clearly way too big for Manny.

All in all, Manny does not have to fight Martinez for the middle-weight belt, but don't act as if Martinez is this huge, monstrous fighter because Martinez started his career at 147 like Margarito.

All you have to say is that Sergio is not only bigger than Manny, but can also match him from a skill standpoint as well, and is thus, not a risk worth taking for Manny.

I don't think Pacquiao should fight Martinez. The only way they would fight would be at most 154. If they fight and Pacquiao wins, then people are going to say, "Pacquiao beat a drained Martinez." If Martinez wins, then people are going to say, "Martinez beat Pacquiao because he's too small." People never give credit to a fighter for just beating the other guy. They always have to make excuses on why the fighter won or lost. So I think both of them fighting each other won't do anything for their legacies.
