Comments Thread For: Diaz: Margarito Eyes March Fight Before Cotto Rematch

According to Sergio Diaz, co-manager of Antonio Margarito, the former three time welterweight champion is looking to take a fight in the month of March. He is not looking to go straight to a rematch with Miguel Cotto in June. To repair a fractured right orbital bone, which he suffered during the twelve round decision loss to Manny Pacquiao, the tough Mexican boxer underwent surgery on November 16.

I just don't get the Margarito thing. He is an inept slug. In his last three fights you could clearly see that he is a low-skilled plodding bum, with no pop on his punch whatsover. Nope, I don't get the Margarito thing at all.

Margarito has been EXPOSED. I wish people would stop pretending he is an elite fighter anymore.

marg needs to rest. march is way too soon even for tune up IMO. and he's no longer an elite fighter anymore. 2 brutal losses out his last 3.

Margo vs Bundrage would be a good fight because it would make Cotto Margs a unification fight if Margs got the win.

                  Poor K9.

                  Agreed.

                  It makes sense.

I'm likin all three of those options as a tune-up for Tony, leading into a Cotto rematch.
