Berto is a big challenge and decent fight. He's certainly top 3/4 he could even possible face.

I find Freddie's comments as to needing to fill Manny's pockets a little odd though.

Manny doesn't seem obsessed with the money, need it much, or like some other guys in the business. It's a sad state in boxing when the mentality is increasingly just taking the biggest money fight, promoters have too much say and they're mentality is spreading.

Berto is a quick welter with decent pop. Much better than a fight with Mosley at this point.

bertos got raw talent,but no defense and not smart enough to beat pac.
ide still like berto vs mosley while pac marquez happens,then mosely can ko berto and get a title again!.

pac would get to him (berto) so easily,it would be over quick.

Berto is a very special fighter... speed, power, heart.... What he lacks is ring generalship, footwork, flat footed, and he isn't the smartest fighter... He gets caught in unnecessary situations and his chin isn't bad, but it ain't good.. He didn't look great against Collazo but he DID take that challenge knowing Luiz makes people look bad.. He beat him with sheer heart and guts... He found out southpaws were dangerous and were a weakness for him... He fought Quintana and looked muched improved against a very slick southpaw fighter in Quintana. He has many flaws but has IMO the fastest hands in boxing to make up for it... With power in both hands and knows how to put punches together in deadly combinations... He CAN beat Pacman if he has a great night and Pac has a terrible night... But speed!!! His speed could make up for it.. He is way faster than Pacman!

In their defense though, business is very delicate at this point of Manny's career. Picking the wrong opponent (money-wise) would mean millions of $$ in lost revenue..
