Mexico is second in boxing behind The USA

I'm not talking sh-it but when I see
4 Mexicans fighting for a championship in Japan and talks
about Segura fighting in Puerto Rico and Margarito
going to New York to fight Cotto

This is why I think Mexico is second best country in boxing behind the
USA it seems Mexicans ( lower weights) are more willing to go abraod
I mean Hozumi Hasegawa never defended his title outside Japan. Ivan Calderon made his career in Puerto Rico but that should not take away
from the fact that there both great champions Caledron is a HOF but Fighting once in awhile away from where you are from is good to and It seems Mexicans are great at doing that and Las Vegas may have alit of Mexicans living there it is still a neutral site

but this is a little ridiculous these are scheduled for this year and next year

Juan Carlos Burgos vs Hozumi Hasegawa for the vacant WBC Feather
Hugo Cazares WBA superfly vs HiroYuki Hisataka
Jorge Solis interm WBA superfeather vs WBA superfeather Takashi Uichiyama
Tomas Rojas WBC superfly vs Nobuo Nashiro- never fought outside japan for a title

Its no doubt that Mexico has produced the 2nd most world champs. But on them flying out abroad, it might just mean that's the best opportunity their going to get without that belt. But I do agree Mx is the second best boxing nation.

I use to think that it was on them but not no more I think most of these fighters just do want to go to Mexico and fight and not just In Mexico
Japanese fighter really don't like fighting anywhere but Japan
Name one fight that a puerto rican fought a Mexican in Mexico for a title
Raul Perez vs Wilfredo Vasquez and that is it but a Mexican fighting in Puerto Rico for a title there's alot Cazares fought 5 times in puerto Rico and 3 times in Japan but Hozumi and Caledron have never fought in Mexico for a title and they have fought plenty of Mexicans

It's been like this since really the late 1800s. I can't think of a time that the United States wasn't number 1 and Mexico wasn't number 2. The two best boxing nations and I don't see any country ever dethroning it.

                But regarding the original post:

Personally, I don't give much credit to fighters that "go abroad". Here in the Americas, great fights usually happen in USA, and the other two hotspots are Puerto Rico and Mexico. In higher weights, great fights happen either in USA or in Europe (UK/Germany, mostly).

Fighters that go abroad, in my eyes, much of the time go to grab a championship from a "suspect champ" over their territory. That is basically the whole Celestino Caballero BS game. Other example, Daniel Santos over Giovanni Parisi.

So it's good that you cheer up your Mexican fighters and all. But going abroad, IMHO, is not that big of a deal.

Finally, Calderón (which I hate) fights here in PR because that's the only place he can really make a buck. The guy made a living being a Janitor or something of sorts in Guaynabo, if I'm not mistaken, before boxing. He needs his money, that's all.

I would have to say, maybe its better economically to fight in PR or Japan. Plus right now how the media is all on Mexico, they probably wouldn't go especially now. Morel was going to fight Montiel but pulled out last minute to supposedly an injury. IMO I think Montiel scared him when he felt disrespected by Morel and reminded him of the violence that goes on in Mexico, because after that Morel was injured. But I think that some Mx champs should have some pull to be able to host a fight in Mx.
