Comments Thread For: Insider Notebook: Mosley's Golden Beef; Pacquiao Foe Rift

By Robert Morales - "Sugar" Shane Mosley has made it well known that in his mind he is a free agent and can fight for the promoter of his choosing, including himself. Assuming he is correct, that would make it much easier for him to get a fight with Manny Pacquiao because Pacquiao is promoted by Bob Arum and Arum and Golden Boy Promotions are once again at odds.

Mosley, who turned 39 in September, has been promoted by Golden Boy for five years. Some of the fights he has had during that time include two with Fernando Vargas, one with Luis Collazo, one with Miguel Cotto, one with Ricardo Mayorga, one with Antonio Margarito and one with Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Considering Mosley had already suffered two losses to both Winky Wright and Vernon Forrest, it would seem that Golden Boy hasn't done all that badly by Mosley.

Richard Schaefer - CEO of Golden Boy - was approached Monday at Trinity Boxing Club in Hollywood, Calif., at a workout for Juan Manuel Marquez, who Saturday will defend his lightweight championship against Michael Katsidis at MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Right off, Schaefer said he would not go into any details about Mosley's status with Golden Boy, with whom Mosley said he still owns stock. [Click Here To Read More]

called this before. Roach favour JMM at 147 because (like me) he views that as easier than Berto or SSM at 47. Hopefully Arum makes the call and it's Berto or Shane.

Also freddie is full of ****. Manny weighed 144.8 for a 150 pound CW fight. I doubt Manny would have any real problems getting to 140.

Fine by me. Hopefully Andre puts on a show, a highlight reel KO to make a possible fight with Manny more attractive to fans.

Mosley's new manager is James Prince?

Then I gotta side with Schaeffer on this one.

Prince is the same guy who ****ed Dawson's head up so bad that he decided to let Pascal whoop his ass for 8 rounds.

Goosen is such a fool chasing PAC for pauliams!

He is stating that paul has been fighting at 147 for most of his career to plant that willyawns is a welter. Then pac should be at 126-130 then since he fought most of his career at that weight?:wank::wank::wank:

So it seems that Floyd is out of picture, hence Mosley, Marquez, and Berto are now itching to have big payday in fighting Money Pacquiao!

But then, Golden Boy Promotion seems not ready in releasing Mosley.

So that makes the younger champ, Berto as an alternative for Pacman's next opponent.
