When has a boxing match ever made your jaw drop?

For me any of the "old school" bouts have never really done this, largely because I know what to expect. It's history, so no matter how many Ali shuffles I see, I knew what was coming, brilliant though it is.

But lately I've had a few jaw-droppers. There's Augustus doing his dancing, Golota getting sparked three times in a minute and Roy Jones getting KOed by Tarver. (Remember when RJJ getting KOed seemed like a bizarre joke that could never really happen?)

But I mention this because I finally got to see Holyfield-Bowe I. What can I say... round ten. Wow!

probably the most surprising, jaw dropping KO, I ever saw was james thunder on tuesday night fights(USA network) vs crawford grimsley(i think thats his name).... 1 punch KO, 5 seconds into the fight, the guy was out cold with feet stuck in the air....

I think this again comes down to "expectation killing astonishment" syndrome. By the time I got to see that one personally I'd heard every last thing about it so it had no spontaneity or shock value. Good fight though.

My stomach turned when Rahman knocked out Lewis same can be said for Tarver KOing Jones. I was also in awe watching the Castillo/Corrales fight.

I can't name every single time, but the last time a fight shocked me was when Maussa KOed Harris. I mean, I know that you could pretty much see it coming but I still thought that Harris was going to keep away and at least let the fight go to the scorecards. Maybe is was the way he was KOed. The stumble backwards, and then Maussa's little peck on the cheek when he was down. The whole thing seemed to come out of nowhere despite the way the fight was going.
