You can make an argument that Floyd has ducked great welter weights. But he has beaten some solids WW's: Baldomir, Judah, Delahoya (154), Hatton, Marquez, and Mosley. It may not be the list you would like to see, but it is impressive none the less.

You'll must have forgot that he dominated the P4P rankins at that time, that he went up from a very low weightclass. Margarito and Cotty were only contenders by that time. Heck, he had just defeated De La Hoya, Hatton and so on. There were nothing more for him? And if he lost his passion, why should he continue? Most guys on here weren't even boxing fans when he were dominating the game, they just tend to read these 350+ daily hate threads, which is sad, cause Mayweather has given so much to the game of boxing. Manny Pacquiao is currently the true pfp king, but people tend to forget how much Mayweather has given and fought for. Corrales and Castillo were supposed to murder this kid, yet he gave them a boxing lesson. Even Mosley in his prime ducked Mayweather - said he were not interesting... But he came up very short, when he were schooled.
