Because people forget he is only 21. For a 21 year old he already has some decent wins on his record (Ko's of Mcrary, Smichet, Ayala, Camacho Jr)

I was hoping that his line of opposition would mirror what he's been getting lately. Instead its a 37 year old with wins over a bunch of fighters with losing records.

I don't mind it though because he's only 21. Their actually better off putting him up against this kind of competition for another 2 or 3 fights because Lemieux is potentially a huge, huge cash cow in Canada. Very rare case to be honest. A potential superstar that is still too young to be rushed, but is getting popular while still fighting lower level competition, beating them spectacularly.

For the next year or two, he could make tons of money in Canada main eventing events against names like Marco A. Rubio, Carson Jones, etc...

No wonder why he says no one will fight him. He calls up people at the last minute throwing them off their game from not getting a full training like he will. Then knocks them out.

Why is he going too fight Purnell Gates? Gates is ready for his SSI check. Gates' last four opponents have a combined record of 27 wins and 57 losses.
DL is ranked #20 World Middleweight. He should be fighting #10 Darren Barker - not #284 Purnell Gates. What's to gain here for DL? Anybody?
