    Gorres in Impressive Win

Z “The Dream” Gorres put on an impressive show that had fight fans drooling at the prospect of another legitimate world champion when he scored a shut-out ten round victory over tough and rugged Thai KO artist Chiayong Distar in a supporting bout at the spectacular “Yanig sa Taguig” showdown featuring Ring Magazine featherweight champion Manny Pacquiao and IBF No. 6 ranked Fahsan 3K Battery before some 30,000 screaming fans at The Fort in Taguig, Saturday night. I'm A Filipino but I'm not so sure I was impressed by Z the other night. Was expecting a KO win for the guy ..

Just got the Fedex parcel sent by my friend in Manila containing the tape of that event in Taguig. Saw the Z fight. Clearly, he has no power and can be hit easily. Handspeed is above average. Lands combos, moves well. Can bring the fight to his opponent or sit-back to counterpunch. But I think his chin is suspect.

I may regret saying this in the future, but if Z gets to win a world title, he won't hold it for too long.

But anyone looking for the next Pac, doesn't have to look far. I'm told that down in Cebu there's a kid that was offered by Larry Holmes to train at his complex in Easton, Penn. Now, there's a prospect...! Great punch (saw a couple of tapes)! Great movement! Fantastic handspeed. Punches in clusters. Killer instinct! For one so young, (17? 18?) he's pretty schooled!

And it seems he's got the type of persona that can sell tickets!

Why was he not on the bill in Taguig!

not seen gorres fight yet but its all in the news, the kid lacks power, does not put the filipino boxing crowd in awe, but he is still a good prospect to win a championship...

on the otherhand Rey Boom Boom Bautista is something, he has charisma, youth, speed and ko power to boot, this kid is a prospect to become not only a champion but a superstar...

i think the reason why he was not billed in taguig coz he is being handled by a different group and i think he just fought an indonesian or a thai foe just recently...

          BOOM BOOM!

The last one that I know of who was called that was Ray Mancini. But from what I saw, Ray Bautista packs a better punch than Mancini had. Mancini was a brawler and was cut all too many times in all too many fights. Bautista-- from what I have seen of him-- doesn't easily get hit!

And that punch! Got some fellas I watched the tapes with droooooling!

So he's getting international exposure? Good for him, buddy!
