Mannys optimal weight is about 144 pounds, he could easily make 140 but apparantly Roach doesnt want him to go down for whatever reason, he cant go up either, he was trying but he was 6 pounds short of the 150 limit, no way he can fight for a middleweight belt, he would slow down so much going over 150.

If they can agree on 150-152 this might be possible but i dont see the fight happening. Martinez on 154 and higher is too strong, too big, and would have a really big chance to knock out Manny. Below 152 he would have to kill himself and we woudnt wanna see it either.

Floyd has to come out of his hole and fight Manny, otherwise i wanna see Manny against Berto or the winner of Alexander / Bradley, not Shane and not Marquez, if it has to be Marquez then no higher than 140, i dont get it how Roach keeps saying Manny doesnt go below 147, a fight against Marquez at ~145 is meaningless, we've already seen how badly he performs at that weight.

Martinez should fight Pirog or Sturm (but i am sure Sturm will keep on fighting bums instead)..its sad but i dont see how a Pac - Martinez fight could materialize, too big of a weight difference..Manny Floyd would match so flawlessly, why the hell doesnt it happen....

I'm so sick of people emphasizing so much on these paper belts these days, no one cares about these meaningless belts. Atleast I don't I just want good fights to be made, its already ridiculous each weight class has like 4-5 belts.
I see what you're saying but it's just not true. Fighters care about belts/titles. Anyway, Martinez has a legit title at MW. He beat the man who beat the man who beat the man. It's not just a BS title like the one Pac just won a couple weekends ago. No slam to Pac but that is just a straight up BS belt, like you are mentioning.

            One thing is for sure.

Martinez won't get away with keeping his hands down like he's used to.

It's either Martinez by KO or Pac UD via Margarito style beating.

However, the problem is that if Manny were to fight Sergio at 160 for the belt, he'd get slaughtered, so that's never happening.

If Martinez doesn't feel comfortable going below 156 why is he a bitch? He's just being honest with himself. Why should he drain himself to fight Pac if it will put him at such a disadvantage? This fight doesn't have to happen. Martinez is a legit MW and he wants to fight MWs, which Pac is not. Plenty of other fights to be had.

It's too early to be talking about Pac or Martinez ducking each other anyway. Nothing has really been put on the table. Arum and Dibella were feeling each other out.

And that's fine. There has to be a point where Pac can't go up anymore. Nothing wrong with that.

This would be mannys 9 different division and this belt also carries the lineal championship

Usually belts dont matter but this one does
