Has Boxing Become a Niche sport?

Ive been thinking bout this today, has boxing really died down that much? Im not that old (22) but i remember when i was younger everyone used to watch and talk about boxing, for example, if now i ever start talking current boxing to one of my friends, they will say something like, "Tyson was bad ass" or "who would win between Tyson and Ali",lol. Sergio beating Williams and moving up in the p4p lst in such style was like something of an epic proportion in the boxing world, but hardley anyone else besides us really gives a ****, speaking of that fight, why did only 5000 people go to see the number 3 and 4 p4p rated fighters go at it?

Boxing has grown much much bigger in other countries and gotten much smaller in America. Things change, but they could easily change back.

boxing has been niche for at least half a decade now. Remember how "boxing is dying" and Oscar vs Floyd were supposed to save boxing?

It depends where you live, if you live in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Philippines, Japan where the kamedas have the best ratings in combat sports, i will say no

IMO Boxing left mainstream's eye when cable was introduced. When boxing was shown on network TV, everyone was watching and talking about it. Boxing is too big to be dying, you have to look at it with a worldwide perspective not just here in the USA.

Professional Boxing is arguably, the most important sport in Puerto Rico.

One of the FEW places on earth the Martinez / Williams fight result was the #1 news article of the web edition (Primera Hora).

I forgot Germany is pretty big there.

The last news i read was that universum got 300,000 viewers in their first transmision on the internet in the fight of Jack Culcay.
