Is Roy Jones slick?? No slick fighter is that entertaining. RJJ is an offensive fighter.

try reading sometimes or pick up DVD's about boxing legends, Charley Burley and the Black Murderers Row is one of my favorite books personally, he was never given a chance, he was a hidden secret that top fighters like Ray Robinson and Lamotta wanted to remain a secret, because they knew if more people found out about guys like Burley then they would have to fight him

Apparently, you have to be at least 65 to have heard of The Black Murderers' Row.

look at his jab and his movements and how he move that lead hand around to throw you off and measure you up, Roy Jones did the exact same thing...don't get me wrong Charley seemed like he is much tougher and more physical then Jones because he mixed up his slickness with brawling but yeah the slickness, the quickness, moving in and out...that is why I made that comparison, actually that is how I heard about Charley, when Roy Jones was in his PRIME and dominating, it was an announcer that made that comparison

Thank you!!! I've been looking for something like this and this really recalls my studies with Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do! GREEN K!

And, yea SRR avoided Burley, after commentating in one of Burley fights. He said that he was "too pretty to fight Burley" or something that effect. Burley was just a hugh risk high reward type of fighter. And, SRR was a pain when it came to negotiations and was very diva-esque. But, Burley also understood that and made no bones about it. He said that if he was in SRR shoes he probably would do the same thing.
you are right.that spook Burley is so overrated that's it's funny. the more time goes by the more that boogie gets too much credit. if you want to see a real fighter in action look at Willie Pep or read about the great Harry Greb. those were fighters that could do it all.

Burley's old sparring partner AJ "Blackie" Nelson said this "I see a lot of Charley in this kid, Roy Jones Junior. Both had unorthodox styles, could hit you from any angle, both hard to hit. Charley jabbed more than Jones, if Jones would concentrate on boxing as Charley did, he would become an all-time great."

Yeah I've heard Lamotta ducked Burley which if true is really a testament to Burley's ability, Lamotta fought and beat some of the more avoided fighters of his time(but again I dont know for sure that he ducked him).

I've seen LaMotta being quoted a lot in books saying
"Why fight Burley when I have Zivic ?"

Which is him basically saying he's ducking him, Zivic was a much bigger name and could generate more money as well.
