These guys were fringe contenders (i don't care about belts) at best and never became anything more than hype. People forget Sergio lost to Maragrito albeit green (and no i don't think it was the wraps back then either). Pac is more athletic and moves better, punches sharper, has better attack angles and is overall much better than sergio.

The difference is that Martinez has been fighting at 154 for a major part of his career and now has been fighting at 160 and most importantly WINNING at 160. What this means is that Martinez has been used to getting hit and hitting these big guys and KOing some as he did against Williams (including knock down in the first fight)

Margarito on the other hand was a career 147 fighter.


To boot, Manny faced Margo at 150. So then perhaps if Martinez would come down to 150, one can make more of statement as to why not.
