Hopkins is a racist douche. Pac hasn't been avoiding African-American fighters. He's been avoiding fighters who have a style that greatly contrasts to his. He avoids fighters that are counter punchers and mostly defensive minded. Why do you think he doesn't want to fight Marquez again?
It always comes down to a racial issue with Hopkins.
Either Fitzsimmons ****** his head falling down or an ignorant scribe pretending to be an expert on the sweet science.
Let's see, how do I write this without sounding frustrated? Name one single fighter that you as an expert think Pacman should have fought while at 126, 130, 135, 140 and 147?
There was none! In terms of money and belts and recognition. The only one who mattered was Zaheer Rahim and he blew his chance by getting embarrassed by Acelino Freitas.
Using the same silly logic we can say the same about Floyd. When he moved to 140Ibs, all his opponents ceased to be black conveniently. In 2005 it was Gatti and Sharmba Mitchell (who was really a stepping stone towards Judah).
Now Judah is a front runner that is no longer a threat after his demolition by Tszyu so he doesn't count. After that it was Baldomir, then Oscar then Hatton then Marquez and an aged Mosley who is just a ****er.
I know I know...I don't even agree with what I am writing so ease up on the criticism. I am using Fitzsimmons convoluted logic.
B-Hop on the other hand is an ex con who used to **** men in prison. He only fights people that draw huge following so he can claim that he's the man. B-Hop could never be on PPV by himself and that is a FACT.
So going back to Manny, all these "experts" talk about Manny fighting a black fighter and they all fail to produce a single name that they think Manny should fight.
With the exception of Floyd of course since Manny's been chasing him since last year.
True Dat? At first glance, I knew it was going to read as a knock against Pacquiao. It's funny how easily this guy is getting bashed for putting on "balls out" performances against fighters that FMJ avoided. Is he the most technically sound? No. Is he slick? No. Is he more exciting to watch than Bernard Hopkins was on his best day? Yes.
It's obvious that the guys at GBP have an issue with Pacquiao. Ever since that contractual issue between Arum and De La Hoya, there's been bad blood. After Pacquiao beat DLH, Hopkins was kissing his ass. Now all of a sudden, he's overrated and not African American enough to be considered the best P4P fighter in the world. That's not racist at all...
That's just bull**** and it reeks of revisionist history. Hopkins acts as if slick black fighters have never been knocked out or beaten. I like Hopkins, but when he pulls this act he comes off like the hood rat who went to jail for snatching purses.
Hopkins is just trying to stir the pot by acting as if he speaks for all black people. He needs to realize that fights are fought in the ring and not on paper. There are too many intangibles and that's what makes boxing, well...boxing. It's obvious that Pacquiao is following the "one-up FMJ" formula by either fighting boxers that FMJ avoided, or annihilating the ones that were competitive with FMJ.
It's not as if Hopkins jumped at the chance to prove how great he was by fighting Chad Dawson. Look at Hopkins career arc. He had wars with a ton of mid tier middleweights that pumped up his record. He beat a blown up Tito Trinidad, an older DLH who had hit the ceiling in weight divisions and decisioned a slow ass Kelly Pavlik who came up in weight. He also never came close to fighting RJJr in that rematch everyone wanted, citing money issues. He's even more of a cherry picker than he claims Pacquiao has been. He knows he's at the end of his road and he's just trying to make noise in that last gasp.
Appreciate Pacquiao for what he is; an all out action fighter with the balls to take way more risks in the ring than Hopkins ever did. Right now he deserves the P4P ranking, because he's done it in the ring respectfully without beating women and being a racist prick along the way.

all your negative talk about b-hops stint in jail does not change a thing. ive been put down a lot on the scene for stating the obvious. i have said for a long time that pac has been positioned for maximum return. i do think pac would fight anyone but lets be for real. margarito for a title match????? this is too fake. and there are a ton of fighters roach and arum had pac avoid. for all the shane is old talk, shane would ko pac inside of 9 rounds. but that fight would not be a ppv hit. so arum being a crafty politico set up all the top rank vs pac fights to elevate pac and set up the biggest fight of the century. pac vs floyd. after this fight pac will retire. and to call out a fighter for his record is not racist. when ever a black fighter speaks to race he is called a racist. its old and tired. the truth is there were plenty of black fighters pac could have fought but roach and arum knew the style of most black fighters would present pac with problems. so they built him up on top rank cast offs with the exception of oscar ( who they wt drained to 147 were he hasnt fought at in 8 years) and hatton ( who was just ktfo by floyd) its time for pac to fight a real opponet. arum cant keep tring to low ball fighters and then claim they dont want to fight. no bob they dont want to get used by a greedy, slimy politico. its not fair to pac(who i believe would fight any one) for the people looking out for his career to keep putting him in with trash. no one who knows boxing thought tony had a chance. its the same face forward staight forward pac has become synonomous for fighting. top rank nedd to stop low balling pac and put him in real matches.

but are you not describing the fighting of 95% of african american fighters? roach and arum loves to put pac in with fighters that employ the mexican style of fighting. the all out to the max little to no defense style. except jmm he is a boxer counter pucher and he gave pac hell. ive always said how can you not fight a AA fighter?? from 126 and up there should have been at least ONE fight vs an AA fighter since there so many of them to fight.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing! It's a dumb statement from Hopkins! I think he's been taking hits off of Floyd Sr's crack pipe and inheriting that babbling idiots habit.... hahahaha
to the floyd never fought an asian fighter. this is a ****** statement. you can count the asian fighter in the ww division on no hands since i dont think there is an asian welter wt fighter. on the other hand there are PLENTY of black american fighters roach had pac avoid. if we talk the bantam or straw wt divison and floyd is in that class and you say floyd has never fought an asian fighter, then you would have a valid point. but since there is no asian fighters in the welter wt but pac your point is blown up and invalidated.
