[QUOTE=Proff Griff;9648556]i kno...thats why i dont get why u were arguing with me. i def think rjj is one of the top 168 lbers of all time. the only one who might get the nod for being higher is calslappy since he stayed at the weight longer and he actually beat roy. but thats arguable and i dont wanna get into that.Comment

[QUOTE=SCtrojansbaby;9648677]seriously???? really??? do u even kno who carlos monzon is??? do u kno anybody that roy has beat that is even half as good as george foreman was??? marvin hagler was a monster at middleweight, beat guys like mugabi, and hearns and had a war with leonard. who has roy beat who compares to this level of competition??? u, my friend are a fool. im not saying roy couldnt beat these ppl, but his best wins are james toney, which is really good, and bernard hopkins, which is also reall good. but those guys fought genuinely great fighters at a time where boxing was in its golden ages. just stop it.Comment

Monzon is not greater than Roy. Roy would beat him at 160, and Roy's accomplishments from 160-heavyweight is greater than Monzon....
The problem with lists is people just accept the common consensus having not even seen many of the fighters and just go by "what they hear."
"Roy Jones had a weak resume." when they don't even know anything about his career but instead listen to the majority consensus which is usually implanted in people's minds by idiots like Kellerman and Lampley... That is the point I'm trying to make.
Everybody who doesn't know what they're talking about is quick to say "Roy is not top 10" when they don't even know what they're talking about.
Roy's skills that are well documented on film from multiple angles, the competition he fought, and moving up to HW and winning the championship, being p4p #1 for 10 years straight, etc... is textbook top 10 atg criteria....
Many people on this board claim Harry Greb to be top 5 ATG yet they have never seen a single fight as there is barely any film of him available, so it is all hearsay, articles, conversations, etc from an era where victories could be won based on race, location, etc...
If I say Roy is "top 10" you should not say "Top 10? not even close" because you have no basis for your argument other than taking other people's opinions and trying to make it your basis for saying he is not a top 10 as if it is fact.Comment
